Since it was founded in 2001, Consortium Écho-Logique has become known as a leading authority on public space and special events waste diversion. In its 9 years of operation, the Consortium has overseen the diversion and recycling of more than 1,500 tons of waste from over 430 events across Quebec. Through its actions, this social economy enterprise contributes to improving the environmental footprint of more than 70 events annually, including the Canadian Grand Prix, the Quebec Games, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the FrancoFolies, the Just For Laugh Festival and many other major events.
From its inception, the Consortium Écho-Logique has been able to foster a broad eco-citizen movement thanks to its Green Team, consisting mainly of volunteers. The Consortium has been able to count on the support of event promoters, festival goers, and the large number of citizens who care about the environment.
In addition to its large network of contacts, partners, supporters and volunteers, the Consortium brings human and technical resources to the SNE, which will greatly facilitate SNE operations.
In 2010, the Consortium Écho-Logique created the Echo’Scouade, an ambitious project of awareness raising on public areas and event sites. The Écho’Scouade will conclude its 2011season at the SNE, with the active presence of our team supported by the Echo’ Box and of the MRU.
